Jamie and Randy got married at the Norland Estate on a beautiful, sunny January day and the weather could not be more perfect.
We had spent days checking the weather forecast as it was -25C for couple weeks leading to wedding. On Friday night we had -10 and hoped it is gonna get better for Saturday morning. By the time ceremony ended we had cozy +3C and beautiful golden hour.
The venue was important to the bride. When Jamie was a teenager, she spent some time at estate with her mom. She fell in love with this place so much and knew, this will be her dream venue one day.
Few years later her dream came true and she got to marry the love of her life!
Here is a bit words from Jamie.
How did you decide on the venue?
I was 12 years old and my family was living in Kelowna, at the time when my mother got job at The Norland. Due to the property being in Lethbridge, and the fact that the job would take couple weeks, my mother sent my brother and I to a bible camp. Unfortunately I had come down with a terrible fever and was unable to stay at the camp. The owners of the estate invited me to stay in their home without hesitation so that my mother could care for me.
I remember having this big beautiful room all to myself, and felt like a princess. I remember hoping that I could get married there one day. As fate would have it, they had renovated the estate in time for my wedding. It was a truly amazing experience, and came together just like a fairy tale.
What was the most memorable/favorite part of the day?
Many people asked me this since the big day, and other than being completely caught between every good moment, I would have to say the happiness. The underlying feeling of pure joy and love that was so evident in each and every moment of the day. I might forget little details over time, but I will never forget what it felt like.
Why would you recommend Lucy & Oscar to other couples?
I would absolutely recommend Lucy & Oscar to anyone and everyone! Their deep desire to get to know the people that they are working with separates them from other photographers. Oscar & Lucy want to experience with you, not to mention how incredibly talented they both are, of course! They worked together like a well-oiled machine, and didn’t skip a beat throughout the entire day, and on a personal note, their apparent love for one another just made for such a comfortable space to express our love for each other in their presence.
We could not have asked for more from them and hope the utmost success for them.
