When I first met Erika for a quick coffee to chat weddings we had a lot of fun and started planning an engagement session for her and her fiance Mike. They love mountains and Lake Minnewanka was the perfect fit for some adventure!
But let Erika describe their love story in her own words….
Mike and I met in November 2013 after fate brought us together … and by fate, I mean Tinder! I had been single for a little while and thought it was time to get back into the dating game. A friend of mine introduced me to this “cool new dating app”, so I thought I’d give it a try. Mike was the first person that I felt comfortable enough to meet in person, so we decided to meet for a drink, and quickly hit it off.
It was 10 days after our first date, and Mike had been out at a pub with a friend. He asked me to pick them up as they had been drinking, so I gladly said yes. It wasn’t 5 minutes after getting into the car, when we were involved in a serious car accident that would send my vehicle onto it’s roof, spinning in downtown Calgary, and landing against a light post. Thank God, we walked away without a scratch, which is more than I can say for my vehicle. Normally, when your new love interest almost kills you, you’d think Mike would have run away – and fast, but he didn’t. I feel like that experience brought us closer together and we shortly moved in together afterwards.
Fast forward 3 years, 2 homes, and 2 dogs later, we are now happily engaged and planning the wedding of our dreams. It will be the first time that we are able to bring all of our out-of-province family and friends together, and we can’t wait for everyone to share our special day with us.
And we know the wedding is going to be beautiful! 🙂 I will let you enjoy the highlights of their mountain engagement session in short video.
