Emerald Lake Engagement

We met Jessica and James a couple months ago in spring and started planning a mountain session. A little we knew this year long winter will not cooperate with us. All possible places we have had on our list were not accessible, but as always we had plan C and drove to Emerald Lake in BC. Emerald Lake is such a beautiful place and with a good timing, you have the lake all for yourself!

How did you meet and fell in love?

James and I met working together at the Peter Lougheed Centre back in 2011. When I first saw him I thought to myself “Hey! Who is big sexy.” Next thing I know he is introducing himself to me. That winter I went away on a rather long trip to India but when I returned there was James and that is when the relationship blossomed. We grew from co-workers to dear friends in the span of a few months. We mutually shared our romantic feelings towards each other and in September of 2012 James asked me to be his girlfriend! Since then we have shared many fun times and adventures, from hikes around southern Alberta to hikes in Japan!
What is your engagement story?
I was coming home from Spain expected to be greeted by James, however, the only thing I came home to was this strange letter with a one-way ticket to L.A. and very little instructions. Upon the plane, I got direction to open another letter and this one explained I would be picked up at the airport and brought to Disney. It also contained a little riddle explaining that I would find James in the park at the castle. The whole thing was such a whirl wind and in no way I expected the proposal!

We are both geeks at heart and Disney fanatics so we have shared many Disney adventures around the world as well. It was only fitting for James to propose to me in Disneyland I suppose. And our honeymoon is taking us to Disney World!

Jessica and James are adventurous souls and moved to Japan after their wedding!
