Banff engagement photographer
We know Renny from Jamie and Randy’s wedding, where he was a groomsman last year, this wedding was one of those where you are blown away with emotions, support and connection friends share with each other.
Renny got engaged with beautiful Amanda this spring and we could not expect anything less from these two than an afternoon filled with love and laugh.
Last year we visited Takakkaw falls and wanted to do session there since. Amanda got in touch with us thanks to Jamie and was all in to drive so far for their engagement photos. We were determined to go for it rain or shine and it really ended up raining for the time being when we arrived, but Amanda and Renny did not care about rain nor cold. These two rocked the crazy mountain weather and wind, and we can say it was so worth it!
These two are so fun, genuine and down to earth people. The way they look at each other makes us feel all the love just looking at the photos.
We asked Amanda to share a bit about them and the session.
How did you meet and fall in love?
“The first time Renny and I met was outside the gym, we both felt that “spark” as soon as we saw each other. It was so funny, we walked up to each other and immediately clicked. So we decided to go for coffee. I made sure to pay for the first coffee, you know. To make him feel like this entire thing was going to be equal. He drove us to alook out in Calgary and we just talked. Talked about life, love, hurt, and everything in between. We laid it all on the line and we were still both on the same page. So we said let’s do this. I was driving from Sylvan lake every day I could to see him. He was doing the same. We were spending hundreds and hundreds of $ on fuel a month just hoping for this all to work. After five months we couldn’t wait anymore. So I quit my job, moved to Calgary, and re started for our relationship. He was the perfect father figure for my daughter, and we were both over the moon for our new lives together.”
Tell us how Renny proposed? Did you have any clue?
Renny has always a plan.
All of a sudden I get called over to take a picture with him. Ren tells me to look at some random biker jumping and of course I turn to look. When I turn back around ren had handed me his helmet. And inside was the RING! And him on one knee. I’m crying even typing this out because it was all so amazing. Ren had a mic on his jersey and we have a recording of him asking me to marry him and I cousins even answer because of all the ugly crying. The entire time Dave( the videographer) was filming me and ren. To put together a very special video about our day and the big moment. It was the most memorable, perfect engagement I could ever imagine. I would have settled for a picture of the big moment. But Renny always has a plan ♥”
During the session, you got to freeze and rained on. What was your most favourite part of it, despite the crazy weather?
“My favourite part of the session was how comfortable you two made us feel. How alone we both felt in front of 100 tourists. Kissing and loving one another as if they weren’t there.
Both Lucie and Oscar made us very comfortable. Ren nor I have any modeling background. So we have NO idea how to pose or where to put our hands. Lucie and Oscar told us exactly what to do, how to stand. And it all looked so natural. I never could have imagined myself looking so good in photos !! And it’s all thanks to these two♥♥”
